Join our community-driven initiatives and be a part of the change towards a more sustainable future. Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a long-term commitment, there's a place for you with Transition Chesterfield.

Ways to participate

  1. Volunteer with a project

    Engage directly in our projects. Further details of ways you can participate with each project are shown on the project pages, here are just some of the ways:

    • Repair Cafe - assist in providing refreshments, or fix household items from textiles to electronics

    • Library of Things - join the growing team setting up this project

    • Sustainable Fashion - assist in our workshops or contributing to our events.

2. Support behind the scenes

Contribute your skills in:

  • Social media - help us post on Facebook and Instagram and increase engagement

  • Administrative tasks - assist with scheduling, recording, organising

  • Event organising - help us make the most of our events

  • Communications - help us to publicise what we do.

3. Join our events

Attend and help out at our various events, such as:

  • Workshops and Seminars: Learn and share knowledge on sustainability topics. Share a skill you have with others through our Skillshare project.

  • Community Meetings: Engage in discussions and planning sessions - a good place to start is at our quarterly meetings or at a Friday Eco Hub session.

4. Share and advocate

Spread the word about Transition Chesterfield. So many people in Chesterfield don’t even know we exist!

  • Word of mouth - talk to friends and family about our mission

  • Email - forward items in our newsletter which you think might be of interest to someone you know
