Eco Hub

The Eco Hub is our shared space for learning, creativity and climate action — a place for workshops, events and conversations about a greener Chesterfield

What We Do

Every Eco Hub session is different, but all provide the opportunity for people interested in sustainability issues to come together to share experiences and information in an informal way. We’ve run a variety of sessions so far, from keeping backyard chickens to a talk on natural flood management; from packing seed potatoes to advice on home energy saving.

We use the Hub at Low Pavements on Friday mornings. This provides us with an invaluable chance to catch up, share ideas and discuss challenges arising with our activities.

“If we wait for governments, it will be too late. If we act as individuals, it will be too little. But if we act as communities, it might just be enough, and it might just be in time”.

— Rob Hopkins

A brief background

The Eco Hub was created because Transition Chesterfield didn’t have an accessible space of its own. We knew a regular base would help us grow, connect with others, and strengthen our work in the community. Thanks to a grant from Chesterfield Borough Council’s Community Grants Scheme, we were able to make it happen.

Where to find us

For details of upcoming Eco Hub sessions see our Events Calendar.

Eco Hub sessions are held at the Hub, 61 Low Pavements, Chesterfield S40 1PB. We are opposite the lower entrance to the indoor Market Hall.
