The fabulous lightbulb library is now available for loan! It's a lightweight suitcase with around 40 different low energy lightbulbs inside. You can borrow it free for a few days, test out the bulbs in the comfort of your own home, and find out which ones work with your fixtures and fittings. You could also take it round to your neighbours, test out bulbs at a community building, or even take it to work...
This one is for anyone interested in food - and surely that's everyone! A FREE workshop looking at the opportunities for sustainable, local food-growing initiatives using the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model. Monday 23rd March at the Friends Meeting House.
Find out how you could save money, reduce waste, get creative and live more sustainably, with our new programme of skills share workshops. Have a go at making marmlade, learn how to darn your holey socks, and go foragaging to find food for free. All the workshops are practical and informal, and run by volunteers.
We are really pleased to announce a new season of inspirational and thought-provoking films on peak oil, climate change and positive sustainable solutions. The first billing is The Power of Community - how Cuba survived peak oil, which will be showing on Tuesday 17th February at the Central Methodist Church. Entry to all of the film screenings is free, so bring along your friends and family!

A special lightbulb library is coming to town, and we need someone to help look after it. I have just found out today that we can borrow a lightbulb library for Transition Chesterfield, from early February to the end of April. The library is basically a big suitcase, with about 40 different types of low energy lightbulbs in it, which we can lend out to people so they can try out the different bulbs in their own home.
