Transition in the spotlight

reading newspaperTransition Chesterfield has been in the news this week, with an article in the Derbyshire Times about the Inkerman Buzz, and no less than two articles in Chesterfield Borough Council's electronic 'Green Leaves' newsletter. Fame at last!

You can download a copy of the Green Leaves newsletter here. It's approx 1MB, and it's a pdf document.

The term 'transition' also made it in to the big national news, with the Government's announcement last week on how we're all going to cut our carbon emissions by 2020. It's called 'The Low Carbon Transition Plan'. You can wade through the official version on the DECC (Department for Energy and Climate Change) website, or, for something a bit more easy going you can read a very interesting commentary on the plan from Rob Hopkins, one of the founders of the Transition movement - click here for Rob's comments.

Rob's write up is one of the articles in the July edition of the national Transition Network News, which has got some other interesting stuff in it. Click here to start at the beginning of the newsletter.
