Transition Special - presentation

At the beginning of the Transition Special event, Bill gave a presentation reminding us about peak oil, climate change and the Transition model, and explaining what Transition Chesterfield has been up to in its first year. Unfortunately we can't put the full powerpoint presentation up here, because it's too big, but you can download a word document of Bill's script here.

Below you can see the plan for the day (which is more or less exactly what actually happened):

2pm – setting up
Organisers and helpers arrive to set out room, prepare etc
(If you would like to help with setting up, serving teas etc, please get in touch!)

2:30pm – Arrivals, membership and mapping
Everyone arrives! Sign up to be an official member of Transition Chesterfield, and then help us build a big map of a more sustainable Chesterfield.

2:45pm – What we've done so far
Welcome to the event, and a short presentation to remind us what Transition Chesterfield is all about, what we’ve achieved in the past year, and where we’re heading for the future.

3pm – Introduction to working groups
Introduction to the working groups, with an explanation of each group and how the next part of the afternoon will work.

3:20pm – Cup of tea and stroll
Tea and coffee available. Your chance to look round the different topic tables, make suggestions, ask questions and start discussions.

3:40pm – Get down to business

Everyone chooses a topic table to sit at and plotting begins in earnest – hopefully by the end of the session each working group will have a few simple ‘next steps’ and you will have ave been fired up to join in! Each group reports back briefly to everyone.

4:10pm – Formal AGM
The official AGM, to include finance report, and voting in of the steering group, treasurer and secretary.

4:30pm – Close and pack away
Tidy up and pack away. Everyone goes home with lots of ideas and inspiration!
