Transition Special - 1st AGM

Become an official member of Transition Chesterfield at our AGM on 18th April.

Transition Chesterfield became a legal organisation with the signing of its constitution in January this year. The constitution isn’t a very interesting document, but we have to have it for legal reasons, and it spells out how the organisation runs itself. Another legal requirement is that we have Annual General Meetings (AGMs), at which our members can elect officers, such as Steering Group members, the Secretary, and the Treasurer.

You’re not actually officially a member of Transition Chesterfield until you attend an AGM and fill out a simple form (name and contact information). You’ll still get emails, and you can still log in on our website, the only difference is that members get to vote. Membership is completely free.

We encourage you to come to this AGM and fill out the form, because the more official members we have, the more people will listen to us. We’re making it easy by combining the first AGM with the launch of our Working Groups. The AGM business should not take very long. We’re holding it after the Working Group launch, so that if anyone steps forward to lead one of the Working Groups, we can elect them to the Steering Group.

If you would like to stand for election to the Steering Group, or serve as Secretary or Treasurer, please inform the current Secretary, Bill Leverett, at least three days before the AGM (i.e. by 15 April). You can email him at billleverett(at)yahoo.com.hk, or write to him at 87 Newbold Back Lane, S40 4HH.
