Summer T-Shirt Competition

We’re inviting you to design a logo, picture or slogan to go on a transition t-shirt. The theme is sustainable living, and the competition is open to anyone of any age. Get out your crayons or computers and start designing!

The winning entry will be chosen by popular vote at our Harvest Swap event on 5th September, and then printed up on an organic t-shirt by the nice people at Print Shack.
 
How to enter
  • draw, paint or print your design on a piece of A4 paper (or two pieces of paper if you want something on the front and back of your t-shirt!
  • if possible, send us an electronic copy of your design as well
  • or if you can’t wait to win, you can submit your design already printed on to a t-shirt – the Print Shack have agreed a special price for us
  • don’t forget to fill in an entry form!

Deadline
All entries must be received by 4th September 2009. Or, you can bring your entries to the Harvest Swap event before 2:30pm on 5th Sept and enter on the day.
 
Judging
All entries will be displayed at the Harvest Swap event at the Hunloke Community Garden on 5th September. Everyone attending the event will be able to vote on their favourite design, and the most popular design will be declared the winner. The winner gets a free organic t-shirt printed with their very own design.

Paper entries
  • Please submit paper entries on A4 paper. If you want your t-shirt to have a design on the front and the back, use two pieces of paper.
  • Paper entries can in colour or black and white and any medium (paint, crayons, computer print out etc) is fine.
T-shirt entries
  • the Print Shack on St Mary’s Gate have kindly offered to print competition designs on organic t-shirts at a special price.
  • to get your t-shirt printed at the Print Shack in time to enter the competition, you will need to get your paper or electronic design to them by 27th August.
  • the Print Shack is at 39 St. Marys Gate, Chesterfield, S41 7TH, or you can email them at printshack@tiscali.co.uk. Remember to tell them that your t-shirt is part of the Transition competition.
  • prices for t-shirt printing will vary - the guide price is £12 per t-shirt. You are responsible for all printing costs.
  • of course you are also free to enter a t-shirt printed elsewhere!
All entries
  • Post or deliver to 3 Lincoln Street, Chesterfield, S40 2TW (note corrected postcode!) – to be received by 6pm on Friday 4th September
  • Or enter at the Harvest Swap event on Saturday 5th September by submitting your design before 2:30pm at the Hunloke Community Garden, Church Street South, Chesterfield S40 2TF
  • It would be very helpful if you could also send us an electronic copy of your design to competition[at]transitionchesterfield.org.uk
 
Some small print
  • Transition Chesterfield reserves the right to use and reproduce any artwork submitted to the competition.
  • For technical reasons, your designs will need to be held for reproduction following Harvest Swap. We will do our best to return originals to you, if specifically requested.
  • if the winning design is an already printed t-shirt, the winner can choose either to have another t-shirt printed, or to be reimbursed for the cost of printing the original t-shirt (within reason)
