Transition Chesterfield held their 4th Annual Potato Day on 28 January 2012. We sold 43 varieties of potatoes, 4 types of onions, 2 garlics and eschalote grise, a gourmet shallot. Like the previous years it was a big success, with queues forming outside half an hour before our opening time of 10:00. Learning from previous experience we limited numbers allowed inside at any one time, but were able to provide people in the queue with samples from our potato tasting table, and, with a large number of volunteers helping both with making up the pre-orders beforehand and on the day, waiting times once we opened were never more than a few minutes.
