Hello all
I have a surplus of jerusalem artichokes (root vegetables) at the moment, so if you would like some to grow or to eat, please let me know! They are very easy to grow, and once they are established they will look after themselves and can stay in the same plot year after year. They are related to sunflowers and grow very tall. For eating, you can roast them, have them raw in salads, chop them in to stir fries, and try almost anything else. They aren't to everyone's taste and they can give you wind, but if you like them they are a really hardy and versatile vegetable.
If you'd like some, email jessiemarcham[at]pasturesgreen.me.uk and we can organise delivery/pick up somewhere in Chesterfield.

Me too
If Jessie runs out, I also have lots of seed jerusalem artichokes, which I'm digging out at the moment to make way for a patio built from old re-used bricks. Simon (204223).
Fartichokes
Ay Up Jess,
Pip and I grew some the other year and even though I thought that I had doug over every square inch of the plot even more grew back next year. I think you may have a surplus for life.... oh and we nicknamed them fartichokes
Take Care
