News from the networks

two people looking through telescopeSometimes it's good to look beyond our own crooked spire, and see what all those other Transition Towns and sustainable villages and low carbon communities out there are up to....

We're members of two national networks - the Transition Network, and the Low Carbon Communities Network - and they both provide all sorts of inspiring stories and find useful information on books, grants, training and such like.

The Transition Network produces a monthly newsletter online, and you can read the latest version by clicking here. It's got news from Transition projects all over the world, plus film and book reviews, and a great idea for 'The Big Lunch' - an outdoor Sunday lunch with the people who live in your street. If you want you can subscribe to get the newsletter by email for free.

The Low Carbon Communities Network (LCCN) don't yet produce a regular newsletter, but they do a blog with useful bits of news and information from groups around the UK, and they are on twitter (that's a thing on the internet that I've not yet fathomed). They also have a page of 'aggregated online content' which means it tells you about low carbon communities news from lots of different websites. Have a look at the LCCN website here to read their blog and sign up to get the blog messages delivered as emails.
