Potato Day

Transition Chesterfield will be selling seed potatoes, garlic, onions, and shallots at unbeatable prices once again, on 28 January 2012. This year we have 43 varieties of potatoes, 4 types of onions, 2 garlics, and eschalote grise, a gourmet shallot; it will be in unit 13 (next to Tesco's), The Pavements, between 10 and 2.

As before, we're looking for volunteers to help out the day before and on the day of the event. Please email food@transitionchesterfield.org.uk if you can help out.

Potato Day helps encourages many people to take that first step in growing their own food. It also helps out those who are already growing their own. Leftover potatoes are donated to local schools for the students to grow, and the money we raise helps pay for our long-term project to plant fruit trees and other edible plants in public places. Please help us do all these things by spreading the news about Potato Day.
