Lightbulb Library (currently out of action)

Unfortunately the lightbulb library is currently out of action. However, when it's in action, it is: A whole suitcase full of low energy lightbulbs for all sorts of fittings and switches. Take them home and test them out to find out exactly what you need. Then sit back and watch your electric bill shrink…

Current cost monitors – available now!

Transition Chesterfield has six monitors of our own available to lend out to local people. The monitor has a live display showing current electricity consumption in your house, associated CO2 emissions, and how much it’s costing you. The idea is that once you become aware of how much energy you’re using, you automatically start cutting back, thus saving yourself money and reducing your carbon emissions.
We currently have a waiting list for the monitors. If you would like to borrow one please e mail alastair(at)theinkerman.org. We would be most grateful if you can pick up and return the monitor to an address in Ashgate (preferably by bicycle or walk!). If this proves difficult we can arrange an alternative. Full instructions are included to set up the monitor.
Chesterfield library also have a stock of current cost monitors, which can be borrowed just like books.
If you pick up the monitor by bicycle you may be interested to know that a recreational cyclist cycling for an hour produces about 150 watts!
