disposing of 2000 seed potatoes

We have roughly 2000-2500 seed potatoes left unsold from Potato Day (Anne's still counting). Here are some things we could do with them:

- sell them at a carboot, or from a market stall

- sell them to allotment societies or gardening clubs at a reduced rate

- give them to schools (who would probably take small numbers each)

- offer to plant them for charities such as Ashgate Hospice, who have somewhere to plant them

- give/sell them to neighbouring Transition groups for mini-Potato Days

- plant them as part of the Mastin Moor Community Gardens volunteer day we're planning (not all 2000, I think)

I'd be interested to hear any other ideas, or any suggestions of specific charities, schools, allotment societies, etc. that we could approach, or your preferences among the above suggestions.

Thanks,

Bill

I forgot to mention: we could guerilla garden the potatoes, find someplace that's accessible that probably won't be disturbed until after august-september, and plant them. Harvest them later, or let other people harvest them. Or give them to people who promise to do that.
