Transition Chesterfield

Is anybody out there interested in co-housing and/or buying a piece of land with the aim of building a couple of straw bale houses or log cabins? I've been looking for a co-housing project for some years but haven't found one in an area where I want to live. So now I'm thinking about the feasibility of buying some land and having a strawbale house built. I imagine land with planning permission for residential use doesn't come up too often and don't know how easy it would be to get permission for a straw bale house in or near Chesterfield.

I'm still interested in the idea of some sort of community and would be interested in a joint venture if anyone else is interested.
