Chesterfield Lets Scheme

Hi there

I recently discovered transition Chesterfield through ordering an excellent cappucino, a poster and this site. I wonder if there is any interest in setting up a LETS scheme for the area? It is something i have toyed with as an idea for many years and never really done anything about. The national LETS site is http://www.letslinkuk.net/

I am hopefully getting an allotment soon. Many years ago i attended a Permaculture design course and am enthusiastic about forest gardens etc.

Will be at some of the skills sharing events which are coming up too.

Chesterfield Timebank

I think it would be great if there was some sort of LETS scheme or local currency in Chesterfield. We already have the Chesterfield Timebank, which is like , you can only trade in hours. They've just created a new website, which is at http://www.chesterfieldtimebank.org/ - worth having a look if you aren't already a member or don't know about it yet. Would be good to include them in any discussions about setting up something new.

A few Transition intiatives round the country are working on, or have launched, local currencies, which you can use in some local shops - basically the same idea as LETS, but a bit bigger.

I'm sure we could get together a little group of people to work on the ideas of a LETS scheme or local currency for Chesterfield, if you would like to take a bit of a lead?
