This is a very interesting blog entry that draws a parallel between peak oil and the changing relationship between the community and the state. Can't say that I agree with it all - if I ever vote Tory you can chop my legs off - but it, and the comments at the bottom, are well worth a read.
There's a serious question here too - how do we take advantage of the current drive for this Big Society to build a community that is resilient against oil production decline?
