Our current batch of skills share workshops is now in full swing! By all accounts the winemaking workshop led by two generations of the Openshaw family last weekend was a great success. And as for the picture: no, we're not training for a trip to the moon - that was Anne and Jessie dressing up at the beekeeping workshop yesterday. Coming up soon, we also have sessions on composting, spinning and wild food foraging...
Composting
Saturday 6th June, 10am-12noon
Newbold, Chesterfield
Pick up some top tips for producing perfect compost. Includes different techniques, troubleshooting and a visit to some real live composting systems! With Bill Leverett.
Spinning
Thursday 18th June, 7pm-9pm
Spital, Chesterfield
Find out how to turn raw sheep’s fleece in to yarn. Learn how to use a simple drop spindle and make some yarn to take home. With Sara Clayton, of the
Hallamshire Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers.
Wild food foraging
Sunday 21st June, 7pm-9pm
Holmebrook Valley Park
Forage for seasonal food on the summer solstice! Learn how to find and identify edible leaves, flowers and berries. With Anne Frazer and Steph Futcher.
We still have places available on all three workshops, but possibly not for long! If you want to join in or find out more, get in touch with Lisa by phoning 01246 239289 or emailing workshop[at]transitionchesterfield.org.uk.
