Amazon Nails, the famous strawbale eco building people, sent us some information about courses they're running this summer in Lincolnshire (not exactly local, but not a million miles away). Rather than jam up everyone's in-boxes, I thought I'd post it here.

Amazonails is pleased to announce a new set of LIVE building courses this summer:

Lincolnshire – Straw bale building and Lime Plastering on the UK’s first straw bale social housing project in North Kesteven, Lincs
 
Course dates:
Saturday 22nd - Sunday 23rd August – Ground floor straw wall raising
Monday 24th – Wednesday 26th August – Ground floor straw wall raising
Saturday 29th-Sunday 30th Aug – Ground floor straw wall raising
Monday 31st August -Wednesday 2nd September – Ground floor straw wall raising
Monday 7th -Wednesday 9th September – Ground floor Lime plaster
Saturday 12th - Sunday13th September – Ground floor clay plaster
Monday 14th -Wednesday 16 September – First floor straw bale wall raising
Saturday 19th-Sunday 20th September – First floor straw bale wall raising
Monday 21st-Wednesday 23rd September – First floor straw bale wall raising
Saturday 26th-Sunday 27th September – First floor straw bale wall raising
Thursday 31st September - Sunday 2nd October – First floor Lime Plastering
Saturday 3rd-Sunday 4th October – first floor Lime plastering
 
Who should attend?
These courses are ideal for anyone interested in natural building techniques; or building their own home; architects, builders or local authority professionals involved in the design and build of residential housing. No previous experience or knowledge necessary.
 
Fees
Amazonails operates a flat fee of £65 per day which includes lunch and refreshments but does not include accommodation.
